"Live Equivalent": Live class attended individually at a remote computer, class details and requirements.        To attend 'remote in a group', click here.

If you are on the schedule to take one or more of our courses live -- but at your computer in home or workplace individually -- this page will introduce you to the particulars and requirements for taking class successfully.

Basic requirements:
w High speed internet DSL/Cable (not dialup)
w Computer running any version of Microsoft Windows.
w Macintosh is not supported at this time.
w Your computer must have working speakers.
  w Adobe Flash player installed.
  w That's all!

If the video at the right plays smoothly with good audio, Flash is enabled and your computer is ready for class!

This course has been approved for PE or CE delivered over the internet.

It is still 'live,' however.

You have to attend at the given time, you must stay in the class for the duration, you must interact, just as if attending in person. During class there will be polls and practice quizzes.

You will see streaming video of the trainer on the screen and the Power Point used during class. We provide a student manual and you are invited to take intensive notes. The manual is delivered to you by PDF electronic format, which you can then print and use during class if you wish. Some people follow along on the screen with the manual and take notes otherwise. We also provide the service of mailing you a printed manual.

The experience will consist of:

w A real-time stream of the trainer teaching the course live. You will have a small video with clear audio.

w The power point slides of the course outline -- this is the same as what the 'in-person' attendees see. The slides will advance automatically as the class moves forward.

w Your student manual. This is provided in PDF form. You can print it out or view it on screen. The Power Point display you will be viewing is contextual with what the trainer is saying, and every slide of the Power Point references the page number of the student manual. So, you always can find out 'where we are' along the way. Pre-printed copies of the manual can be shipped to you ahead of class. There is a $15.00 cover charge for that service.

w Periodic quizzes which will be fed to you via a link. Clicking on the link will open a new browser page with the quiz questions on it. These are the same practice quizzes completed by the 'in-person' attendees.

w Polls and contact: several times per hour, at random intervals, polls will appear on the screen. You must respond to these polls so we can certify that you are attending.

w Q and A: You will be able to ask questions of the trainer by typing them in. The facilitator will read your question during the question and answer periods. This is exactly the same protocol as experienced by the live 'in-person' attendees; we do not allow random questions during the 'exposition' portion of each section of content.

How to attend:

w Test it out: The hour before class on class day is an "Open House." Come in between 7:00 AM and 7:55 AM to assure that the access link and your system is working as expected. It is not required that you log in this early, but highly suggested.

w Watch for the link email: You will receive it the evening before class date. Follow the instructions on the email and you will enter the class and be greeted. There is a small form for you to fill out that takes only a few minutes.

w Give the class your attention. We suggest that you have your student manual open, either as a PDF open in your tray, or a hard copy on your desk, having printed it out. Some people take notes right in the manual, others on separate media. This class is packed! There is much to cover and at times we are flying along. The information is vital to you in general as a Mortgage Loan Officer, with the added urgency that the course is geared to covering as thoroughly as possible the material asked for on the NMLS National Test.

w Stay present. We are required by the SAFE Act and associated regulations to ascertain that you are actually there, attending the class and paying attention. There will be random polls popping up. They have a very short duration. If you do not respond to the poll it indicates you are not present. Within a reasonable but limited scope, if we determine you are not attending, we will suspend access and you will not receive credit hours. This policy is consistent with practice at in-person class. We provide frequent breaks and an hour for lunch in the middle of the day, so make plans to stay at the computer just as if you were attending in-person.

w Interact. You will not have voice contact with the class facilitator or the trainer. You may ask any questions you want, however. You will see the Q and A function on your screen. Type your questions there. Some will be answered by the facilitator, some may be put to the trainer during regular Q and A time. The facilitator is your 'proxy' at live class and we hope will represent you well.

After class:

After class we will send your Certificate of Completion to you via email.
We also report your credit hours to the appropriate state and federal regulatory agencies.

If you have any questions, hit "reply" on the email we sent you confirming your registration and type your question at the top.
