Office Management Excellence:
Management, Supervision
and Leadership

Are you an owner, branch manager or a rising leader in this business? Join me for an extraordinary 8-hour CE experience that will affect every facet of your operation and change the course of your career.

The mortgage industry has grown up.

The years of "easy origination" are over; your operation must be lean, smart, flexible and excellent to compete. Additionally, we are operating in the cross hairs of aggressive regulatory oversight and must be accountable for all our organizational actions. "Mortgage brokers and bankers, beware!"

Welcome to Office Management Excellence.

It is the purpose of this workshop to improve your Management, Supervisory and Leadership skills. Office Management Excellence will cover the concepts and capacities of an ethically run mortgage office and explore important consumer protection laws that every employee must be held accountable to for proper compliance.

Raised Stakes

Great organizations habitually get outstanding performance from ordinary people. Less than great companies take talented people and manage to waste the benefits of their talent, expertise and motivation. Every good manager knows that organizational success comes from finding, hiring and retaining the best people. In today's demanding mortgage industry, this is no longer enough. As managers we must raise the awareness of every employee to the issues of Fair Lending and Consumer Protections. The stakes have been raised.

We won, didn't we?

Mortgage brokers and mortgage bankers originate approximately 60 -70% of all residential mortgage loans today. As an industry we have asserted our dominance and have positioned ourselves as professionals.

The maturing of our profession has taken just twenty years and it has been marked by innovative advances that have transformed the mortgage lending industry. Of all the settlement service providers in this industry, we are closest to the customer. We are the mortgage origination engine of choice for the American home buying public.

With Visibility Comes Accountability

Whenever a sector of an industry establishes its leadership, opposing forces will quickly amass against it and hold it accountable for that claim. Today, there is a sea of attorneys forming class actions suits against our everyday practices. New definitions of unfair and deceptive trade practices are being written each day in the courts. Consumer advocacy groups are bringing pressure to rein us in and control our fees. The term "predatory lending" is now part of our social lexicon and it is shaping the policies and procedures of our independent enterprises.

In just the last five years 24 states have enacted some measure of licensing, mandatory education and/or predatory lending laws. There are a dozen more states ready to do the same. Federal agencies are enacting new laws and amending, expanding and strengthening laws already on the books. Each of these new laws increases the risks, costs, disclosure responsibilities and liability with our customers.

Please join me for this intense, eye-opening one-day workshop and light a fire in your organization.

My best always,
Paul Donohue
